Express Entry
Express Entry is Canada's flagship federal economic immigration system. It manages applications for three programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSW), the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FST). Profiles are ranked by the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) and the highest scorers receive Invitations to Apply (ITAs) in regular draws.

Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum CRS score for Express Entry?
There is no fixed minimum. CRS cutoffs vary by draw category and have ranged from the high 400s in general draws to as low as the 300s in some category-based draws (e.g., French-language proficiency). Check the latest draw results for current cutoffs.
How long does Express Entry take?
After receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA), applicants have 60 days to submit a complete electronic Application for Permanent Residence (eAPR). IRCC's published service standard for processing eAPRs is six months from submission, though actual times vary.
Can I apply to Express Entry without a job offer?
Yes. A valid job offer is not required for any of the three Express Entry programs. A qualifying offer can add CRS points (50 or 200 depending on the position), but most invited candidates do not have a Canadian job offer.
