Between May 20 and June 2, the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program issued 1,550 invitations to apply for provincial nomination across seven separate draws, as reported by CIC News. The invitations targeted professionals in manufacturing, technology, agriculture, and construction sectors. Alberta published the results on its official webpage June 2.

This marks the 43rd series of provincial immigration draws Alberta has conducted in 2026, bringing the year-to-date total to 7,819 invitations issued. The province has now used 2,587 of its 6,403 federal nomination slots for the year, leaving 3,816 spaces remaining. The May 20 draw represented Alberta's first selection round specifically targeting skilled trades in the construction sector.

The Alberta Opportunity Stream accounted for 64.1 percent of all invitations in this period, issuing 994 ITAs. The stream has issued 1,394 nominations against its 3,425 allocation for 2026, with 2,031 slots still available. The Express Entry Accelerated Tech Pathway issued 267 nominations, the Rural Renewal Stream used 480 of its 1,000 slots, and the Tourism and Hospitality Stream has now filled 100 of its 150 spaces. Dedicated Health Care Pathways issued 112 nominations from a 500-slot allocation, while the Express Entry Priority Sector pathway used 213 of 600 available nominations.

"Several of these selection rounds have been the largest of their kind so far in 2026," the province noted in its June 2 update.

The draws affect candidates already working in Alberta under the Alberta Opportunity Stream, Express Entry candidates with profiles in the federal system who meet Alberta's tech or priority sector criteria, entrepreneurs applying through dedicated business streams, and healthcare workers eligible for the dedicated pathways. The May 29 Express Entry Accelerated Tech round, the May 27 Alberta Opportunity Stream selection, and the May 22 agriculture and May 21 manufacturing rounds under the Express Entry Priority Sector pathway were each the largest in their respective categories this year.

As of June 3, Alberta's Expression of Interest pool contained 38,292 worker profiles awaiting selection. The Alberta Opportunity Stream accounts for 24,276 of those EOIs—63.4 percent of the total. The province is currently processing 1,222 provincial nomination applications, with 469 from the Alberta Opportunity Stream, 333 from the Accelerated Tech Pathway, and 387 from the Priority Sector pathway. Entrepreneur streams have 251 applications pending.

Candidates who received invitations in these draws should submit complete provincial nomination applications through the AAIP portal before their invitation expires. Those still in the Expression of Interest pool should verify their profiles remain current and that all work permit documentation, job offer letters, and language test results remain valid and uploaded to their AAIP account.
