Manitoba issued 104 provincial nomination invitations on June 4, 2026, through its Skilled Worker Stream, targeting candidates who had been directly recruited through strategic initiatives. The draw marks the province's 11th immigration selection round of the year and exclusively invited individuals who declared participation in specific recruitment programs.
This draw differs from typical MPNP selections by restricting eligibility to candidates recruited through designated channels rather than opening to the general pool. The approach reflects Manitoba's shift toward targeted recruitment following the expiration of the federal Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Program Candidates, which ended in 2025 but continues to influence current selections.
Letters of Advice to Apply went to candidates across both Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas pathways. The largest share—40 invitations or 38.5 percent—went to candidates recruited through the Employer Services initiative. The now-expired TPP accounted for 39 invitations at 37.5 percent, followed by the Francophone Community initiative with 17, Ethnocultural Communities with 6, and Regional Communities with 2. Of the total, 15 invitations went to candidates with valid Express Entry profiles who also hold job seeker validation codes.
"Some MPNP candidates who appeared to meet the draw criteria may have been excluded from this round of LAA issuance," the province stated, citing missing or invalid language test identification numbers, expired test results, or invalid strategic recruitment invitation numbers as reasons for exclusion.
The draw affects foreign nationals who participated in Manitoba recruitment missions, TPP work permit holders with support letters approved before June 30, 2025, and members of francophone, ethnocultural, and regional community recruitment streams. TPP participants whose support letters received approval after June 30, 2025, remain in queue as the province processes earlier approvals first.
