On May 21, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted its 10th selection round of the year, inviting candidates under a strategic recruitment initiative. This draw targeted individuals through both pathways of the MPNP’s Skilled Worker Stream. The announcement was made public on the MPNP's official channels, highlighting the ongoing efforts to attract skilled labor to the province.

This latest draw is significant as it reflects Manitoba's continued commitment to addressing labor shortages through targeted immigration strategies. Compared to previous draws, this round saw a total of 96 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) issued, which is a notable figure but still lower than the 906 LAAs issued in the prior draw on May 7. The focus on candidates who received invitations under specific recruitment missions indicates a strategic pivot aimed at filling particular labor gaps in the province.

In this draw, candidates needed to have indicated receipt of an invitation under a recruitment mission in their Expression of Interest (EOI) profile or through the now-expired “Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Program Candidates (TPP).” Of the 96 LAAs issued, 48 were directed to candidates who had declared invitations under the TPP, which accounted for 50% of the total. The distribution of LAAs by strategic recruitment initiative included 31 for Employer Services, 9 for Ethnocultural Communities, 4 for the Francophone Community, and 4 for Regional Communities. Additionally, 20 LAAs were issued to candidates with valid Express Entry profiles.

"The highest number of LAAs were issued to candidates who declared being invited through the TPP," the announcement notes. This highlights the importance of the TPP in facilitating the immigration process for skilled workers in Manitoba.

The changes primarily affect skilled workers who have been invited through specific recruitment initiatives, including those from countries with strong ties to Manitoba's labor market. This includes individuals from regions with established communities, such as the Francophone and ethnocultural communities, as well as those who have received support through employer services. The focus on the TPP also suggests that candidates who have been working in Manitoba under this program may have a more streamlined path to permanent residency.

For those interested in applying or checking their status, it is crucial to ensure that all documentation is complete and valid. Candidates should verify their EOI profiles to confirm that they have included a valid test identification number for language tests and that they have submitted a valid invitation number if applicable. Those who received Manitoba Support Letters after June 30, 2025, may need to wait for future draws, as the current round prioritizes earlier approvals. Interested applicants should keep an eye on their IRCC online accounts for updates and ensure they meet all eligibility criteria for upcoming selection rounds.
